Dandakaranya is today witnessing a return from violence to trust: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, March 31, 2026/

Marking a historic achievement in the state’s fight against Left-wing extremism, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the historic date of March 31,2026 witnesses a landmark moment in Chhattisgarh as 25 Maoist cadres, including 12 women, renounced violence under the ‘Poona Margem – Punervaas Se Punarjeevan’- rehabilitation to rejuvenation – a turning point marking significant step toward ending Naxal terror in the state.

Chief Minister called the day a historic turning point for Dandakaranya and the entire state, saying that the long-standing ideology of violence and fear has now yielded, marking a triumph of trust, democracy, and people’s power.

Chief Minister said that a total reward of Rs 1.47 crore had been announced on these 25 surrendering Maoist cadres. Their return to the mainstream is proof that the confidence of misguided individuals in the democratic system and the government’s rehabilitation policy has strengthened.

He said that due to effective action by the security forces and the government’s coordinated strategy, the Maoist network has weakened decisively. In this sequence, a major recovery worth Rs 14.06 crore along with 93 lethal weapons has also been made, clearly reflecting the weakening condition of the Naxal network.

He emphasized tha this is not merely a surrender, but a return of trust. The Dandakaranya region is today witnessing this historic moment of returning towards peace, stability and normal life.

“March 31, 2026 will be remembered in the history of Chhattisgarh as the date when decisive results emerged in the direction of ending Naxalism and the state stepped onto the threshold of a new era,” said Shri Sai.
