FIR lodged as a precaution; investigation initiated

Raipur, March 16, 2026 /

Amid claims of a question paper leak and considering the importance and sensitivity of the examination process, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has lodged an FIR as a precautionary measure. A detailed investigation is being carried out by the police and the cyber cell to ascertain the facts.

Ms Pushpa Sahu, Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education, said the Board is fully committed to maintaining confidentiality and transparency in examinations and strict action will be taken as per rules if any irregularity is found.

Meanwhile, the Class 12 Hindi board examination was successfully conducted on March 14, 2026 by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur.

In this connection, following reports of a possible question paper leak, the Board received information through social media at around 5:00 PM on March 15, 2026 and through media reports on March 16, 2026 that a student organisation had claimed a handwritten sheet containing questions related to the Hindi subject had gone viral on social media a day before the examination, on March 13, 2026.

According to reports published in newspapers, it is being claimed that the questions mentioned in the viral sheet resemble those in the Set-B question paper of the Hindi examination. However, officials said the sheet circulating on social media and published in newspapers is not clear and legible, making it difficult to verify its authenticity.

Clarifying the clipping circulating on social media, Ms Pushpa Sahu, Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education, said, “The related video or material surfaced only after the examination had concluded. Therefore, prima facie it cannot be considered a case of a question paper leak. Hence, considering sensitivity of the mater an FIR has been lodged for detailed investigation.”
